I had 2 jobs both W-2s. One job is in NY and one is in NJ.
I had 2 jobs both W-2s. One job is in NY and one is in NJ. The NJ Job is my primary source of income, but its relatively close. I was laid off from both of my jobs around the same date because of covid-19. I applied for unemployment with both jobs in different states. In NJ they specifically asked if I applied or was receiving UI Benefits in another state and I answered, yes. NY asked no such question. NY approved my unemployment benefits in about 10 days and i am receiving money, but not the max. My NJ claim has been pending for over 3 weeks. I am wondering if I made a mistake in applying in both states? NJ is my primary source of income and I should qualify for the max or close to it and NJ has a higher max then NY. I'm not sure what to do. Should I reapply to NJ and stop claiming weekly benefits from NY? … read more
