My husband got fired on April 6th bc they were eliminating
my husband got fired on April 6th bc they were eliminating his position. He filed for unemployment and we received a letter stating what his benefit amount would be and then a week later he received a debit card in the mail. On Monday this week he received a letter requesting a phone interview. The lady doing the interview stated that they let my husband go bc of insubordination which is not true. They promoted him from his dispatch position (he is a transportation broker) to a open sales position. He reluctantly took the position bc his boss told him if he didn't like it he could go back to being a dispatcher. However the lady conducting the phone interview stated that his boss said he was demoted from dispatch and put in sales (which simply not true). My husband was almost to his 2 year mark with this company on April 23, 2020. Prior to working for this company he worked for 20+ years for another broker company doing dispatch. My husband sent his boss an email requesting all email correspondence for first of work to last day of work so he can refute the lies that have been said in order to not pay my husband unemployment. His boss stated that he did not say he was let go for insubordination that it was bc of the elimination of the position. He then proceeded to say that the lady conducting the interview told him (Kevin ‘the boss') that he can protest the claim by stating my husband was insubordinate. We have this email and we are supposed to fax documentation to this lady by Tuesday. I'm at a loss about how to proceed as we cannot afford for him to be denied benefits and if this lady did tell his ex boss to lie does my husband have an obligation to report her and does he have a right to ask for a different person to help resolve this issue. … read more
