I had to go on permanent disability in either 2204 or 2006 (can't remember which year). I had disability benefits with my employers which end next month since I will be 66 on Dec 31, 2018. Because I needed more income, I took my half of my ex-spouse's pension which was a reduced benefit. I was asked the other day why I didn't get my full half of his pension and only a percentage of it since i was on permanent disability when I applied for the early pension withdrawal. I never even thought that I might be eligible for the full half of my ex-spouse's pension if disability was the reason for the early withdrawal of pension benefits. Your thoughts? … read more
