I have filed unemployment claim benefits for the state of Virginia on 08/07/2018. I have received a letter of monetary determination (Determination by Deputy: VEC651) via mail today, stating: Benefits denied. No record of covered employment in base period (04/01/2017-03/31/2018).My last physical employment was in February 2017 at US Inspect (one-month contract through Talent Logic, Texas). Prior to that, I was laid off from Siber Systems, Inc in December '2016. I worked for Siber Systems from December'2008-December'2016. I have been unemployed since February'2017 and have filed the claim on 08/07/2018. I wasn't aware of unemployment benefits till I filed in August'2018. I am attaching following documents with this letter of appeal: 1.My letter to VEC for initial claim 2.W2 forms for 2016 and 2017 3.Letter of severance from Siber Systems Inc dated December 2016. 4.Front and back of my permanent residence card. I am actively looking for employment, have filed the weekly claim benefit on 08/12/2018, and will continue to file weekly claims as outlined in the unemployment benefits claims procedure.
