Will it affect me having short term disability if i work from home for another employer?
Customer reply replied 11 months ago
will I lose my disability payments?
Employment Lawyer: attyadvisor, Attorney replied 11 months ago
Not necessarily. You would contact your local social security office. Provided you don't exceed the amount you are able to earn while on disability you would be able to work part time and retain the disability. http://www.disabilitysecrets.com/page1-13.html Where are you located?

Also this is an employer sponsored short term disability plan.
Employment Lawyer: attyadvisor, Attorney replied 11 months ago
Thank you for the clarification. You will want to check your company's policy in short term disability. There is the risk of you and the employer facing fraud issues. This is a situation that would be scrutinized. If your employer has a policy on this you will want to abide by the policy.

You are only entitled to employer disability during pregnancy for the period of time that you are unable to work. You don't want to take any chances under this set of circumstances in New York.
