My job requires that I find volunteers before I take vacation. I am the only employee on the job required to do this. Is this legal.
JA: Was this discussed with a manager, HR, or an attorney?
Customer: Not until 10 years on the job.
JA: Is the employment "at will," union, full time, or part time?
Customer: Full time
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: I am being singled out for everything. Example, I am having cataract surgery and is required to find a volunteer. I am the receptionist.

I am sorry to hear this. I would at this point submit your concerns in writing to your HR department. if this issue continues the state labor agency would want to know that you did give them notice of your concerns before intervening.

Two years ago. I am so stressed. I have 5 weeks vacation but because of the stress of trying to find volun5i only take to three days at a time. As a matter of fact my boss at the time told me he was tired of me complaining .

It is unreasonable but not sure it rises to the level of filing a lawsuit. If you quit, then you would likely lose any unemployment benefits. You could file a complaint now with your state labor board.

When I started this job 21 years ago this was not a requirement. It is not like there is not other staff members that can fill in.
