Customer Question

Hi, I had surgery in Nov and have a tentative return to work date for Feb 20th. I am receiving std from my company. I do not want to return. I live in NJ. IF I do not return, will I be required to pay back any monies they have paid me since I've been ou?
JA: Because employment law varies from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: NJ
JA: Is the employment agreement "at will," union, full time or part time?
Customer: FT
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: The week Prior to going out on disability, I failed a random drug test for marijuana

I am sorry to hear that. Your company should have some policies and procedures about leaving the company while on leave. I would look at those to determine whether you have to pay it back.
