Customer Question

If a place of employment pays shift differential for3-11 and 11-7,shouldnt they have to pay the differential to those who are scheduled from 7am- 7pm and 7pm -7am ? This is taking place in Iowa is there any state or federal laws that pertain?

There are no state or federal laws that pertain to shift differentials. These are decided upon at the discretion of management. Thus it is no illegal to pay it for certain shifts over the other...regardless of the lack of logic behind the decision.
