Customer Question

Got a call tonight from co worker she stated someone from our EHS dept. was asking questions about my job and duties. After employee answered questions EHS worker stated that the Doctors note they have had a restriction on it and I was not supposed to be doing that. That's not what is on the note but did this person have the right to be out my personal info to co worker?

I am sorry to hear about your situation. No your employer should not be sharing your personal information especially medical information with any of your colleagues. This would be a violation of HIPPA. However it's hard to say that you have a lawsuit because you didn't actually suffer any damage. The HIPAA laws only impose certain fines not necessary create legal claims.

At this point I would simply suggest filing a complaint with your HR department.
