If "I said I wish someone would die" out loud at my job. Can that cost a person there job didn't called any name at all so one in specific just said " I wish ur friend would just die"

Normally an employer can let someone go without any reason, for good reason or mistaken reason. Therefore that statement could be used to be let one go as could anything else.
