I work company that was bought out and I am on long term

Customer Question

I work for a company that was bought out and I am on long term disability, my years of continuous and credit service was to continue while on disability. The new company froze all accruals of my pension plan. Is this legal?

Generally all pensions are subject to future accrual freezing absent an underlying contract (e.g., a management labor contract) that states they are not. What is it precisely that you are relying on that states accruals are to continue while on disability?
