I'm a contractor and the person i'm contracting with wants to put me on a schedule. Can they do this

They can not impose additional obligations, not already included in your contract, without a written modification of the agreement. In other words, neither of you may unilaterally amend the contract. So, no, they cannot put you on a schedule if it is not already in your contract.
