Customer Question

I left my job without notice. I was employed for 24 years, but due to mental stress and alcohol addiction I walked away. My termination is listed as job abandonment, which I understand. That was 2 month's ago, and I am currently in treatment, but I do want to look for another job. I have not been in contact with my previous employer, should I do this and explain my circumstances for leaving?
