The employer did not want to accept my U.S passport as a document to get hired. She said i need it more ducuments. Is tha legal?

That is generally considered a valid identification. They can ask for two forms of identification but a passport is sufficient. Was it expired or were there any issues with it?

I think she just wants 2 forms of ID, so a social security card or driver's license should be provided. They are allowed to ask for 2 forms of ID.
