I left my job but want COBRA my employer has not sent me any

Customer Question

I left my job but want COBRA my employer has not sent me any information.
Do they have an obligation to cover me until I can get COBRA ?

No, they don't but COBRA backdates to the date of your last employer coverage once you elect it. That way, you will have no lapsed coverage period.

An employer has up to 44 days following a termination or resignation to provide that COBRA election documentation (if the use an outside processor for their benefits) and within 14 days if they have an internal plan administrator.
