I was hired as a Senior Vice President and Strategic Development Officer. I was told by my new boss that this position no longer exists in the firm and I am being demoted to a positon as a cold calling insurance salesperson. Do I have any legal recourse. Len b

It depends on whether the reason is true. If they are removing the position, it is legal, but you could leave and file for benefits based on material change in position. If their motive is false, or discriminatory, then you can pursue a case in court and by lawyer negotiation.
