my employer is forcing me to sign a document that is inaccurate. why should i sign it if i do not agree to it. I have been asked to sign a document about my job performance that is inaccurate in order obtain a contract for the next year.
Response: You do not have to sign it if it contains inaccuracies. In the alternative, you can sign it under protest. That is, note on the document that you are signing it under protest because it contains inaccuracies and that you have to sign it in order to obtain a new contract. The employer is unlikely to allow you to write all these things on the documents, but you may be able to note that you are signing it "under protest." Regrettably, if you do not sign it, you would not get the contract for next year.
