I work three consectutive 12 hour night shifts at my job. I seem to be having problems sleeping during the day. I was caught sleeping on the job a couple of times and told that I would be terminated if it happens again. I went to the doctor who diagnosed me with insomnia and prescribed a controlled sleeping medication that could be additive. So, can my employer be held liable if I'm forced to take prescription controlled medications to help me sleep during the day so I'm able to work at night and not fall a sleep or do they have to reassign me to the day shift? They have recieved the letter from the doctor with his diagnosis.
What do you thnk will be my employer's next move?
