Such monitoring is illegal under Maryland law. Actually, video recording in a workplace is legal if not in a private area such as a bathroom or dressing room. But audio recording requires consent from the person being recorded.

In sum, video, ok if not in a private place like a bathroom or dressing room (no need for consent of the person being filmed). Audio- requires consent of the person being recorded unless there is a court order (such as in a criminal investigation where one uses wiretaps).
