Can a CDL licensed driver legally take hydrocodone and still

Resolved Question:

Can a CDL licensed driver legally take hydrocodone and still drive? It was prescribed by a physician and was told that it was okay to take and drive truck. Just checking as I'm his (driver) employer.

No it is not legal for a CDL licensed driver to drive within 24 hours of having taken hydrocodone. Drivers may not take hydrocodone while operating a commercial vehicle. Any hydrocodone requires a 24 hour mandatory out of service after last dose consumed.
