Can you try a different browser? Google Chrome or Firefox?
Yes. That seems to be the easiest solution without looking at the problem. Internet Explorer is out dated anyway.
Hold the Windows Key and Press R. Type chrome.exe and Click OK.
The key on keyboard between ctrl and alt with 4 window blocks.
When you press windows key and r, it opens the run dialog.
in the run dialog, you type chrome.exe and click ok
that should start the google chrome browser where you can sign into gmail by going to www.gmail.com
