Hello,

My name is***** will be the person helping you today.

When you attempt to log into Facebook, what happens? What type of message are you given?

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Hi I’m getting you have requested too many sms codes in a short time please try again later
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

In that case, you will have to wait up to a few hours before continuing. That is Facebook's policy. You really cannot get around that. If there was a way, I would give it to you.

So in short, you just have to wait this out. Does that make sense?

If you do have any issues later on, after waiting, please let me know. I will be here for the next eight hours.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
How long do i need to wait before i try to login?
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
What is the max time policy?
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

It all depends on how many times you tried logging in. First, I would wait one hour. If that doesn't work, wait another hour, and repeat.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Well the thing is on tuesday i did get approval code sent but my facebook app kept on crashing so it kept logging me out, then that message came up
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Thank you for giving me that information. When is the last time you attempted to log in?

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
I have been trying since yesterday to sign in but its the same message,
I have tried this morning to login
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Oh. I thought it was a new issue. In that case, please wait 24 hours before attempting to log in. You must wait a full 24 hours.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Should i not try in between 24 hours?? Would that keep resetting the time
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

That is correct. Be sure not to try and log in for at least 24 hours. That will reset the time.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Ok great, will i be able to login after that? Will they send me a code after that if i request it
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

That should get you going. The trick is that you must wait 24 hours before trying to do anything with the account.

After the 24 hour mark, you may request a new code. At that time, they will send you a new one.

Thank you for allowing me to help you today. My goal is to give you the best experience possible! I hope I have earned a 5 star rating! Please remember to rate my service by selecting the 5 stars at the top of the screen then submit before you leave today. If you need more assistance, please use the reply box and let me know.

Is that the max waiting time??
I am so worried if that message keeps showing up
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Yes, that is the maximum waiting time.

Are you trying to reset the password ***** a computer, phone, or tablet?

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
i am able to reset password, otherwise there is no problem its only the login approval code
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Are you trying to reset the password ***** a computer, phone, or tablet?

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
I did reset yesterday on phone
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

In that case, you will need to wait the 24 hours.

Ask Your Own Email Question

Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

No, you will not.

Are you trying to log into Facebook on the Facebook App on the phone or are you going using the web browser on the phone?

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
On the facebook app
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Are you able to sign into your Facebook account on a computer?

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
No its still asking for login approval
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Okay, in that case, you will need to wait the 24 hours. Honestly, the actual wait time is only six hours or so, but sometimes, it is best to wait the full 24 hours just to be sure.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Does facebook unrelise the codes lock after 24 hours, and also why does that message start coming up after requesting code 3/4 times?
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Is it not 6,12 or 24 hours depending on how many times i attempted to login
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
I tried to login yesterday at 8/9pm and then today around 8am and the same message kept on coming up
Im just getting scared
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

If you request a code three or four times in a short amount of time, it will lock your account.

The number of hours that it locks the account is unknown to us or the user. Facebook uses an algorithm to set the wait time.

It sounds like you waited 12 hours. Please, wait 24 hours. So this time tomorrow, you should be good.

Ask Your Own Email Question

Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Are you sure its not 48 hours or 72 hours or something
The wait
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Thank you for your patience. You "opted me out" of the question a several minutes ago, which made it impossible for me to respond.

The wait time is most definitely 24 hours.

Thank you and also do you think login approval is a good security feature or should i remove it once i sign in
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

The more security, the better it is in my own opinion. I would not remove it.

But this keeps annoying me
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

In that case, you may disable it, if you wish.

If this message keeps coming up, and what if i get locked out forever, thats my personal account from 9 years
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

This will not result in you being locked out forever. The worst thing that can happen is that they lock you out for 24 hours.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Ok, if i lose my phone or number.. then that could be a problem rightt??
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Yes, that would be a problem.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
That has happened to a friend of mine, what can she do? She’s lost her old number and it keeps sending the code to her old number?
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

How did she lose it? Before closing your phone account, I would suggest changing the phone number that is attached to your Facebook account or disabling 2nd step authentication before hand.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

If you call her old number does the new owner of the number answer it? If so, you may want to work with the new owner of the phone number, explain the situation, and ask them to help you out with the code so that she can recover her account and remove the phone number from her account.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Oh right, would the number have a second owner?
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Her phone was stolen
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Oh my. Is the phone number still active? How long ago was it stolen? If it was stolen, she can contact her phone provider and have the number moved to a new cell phone.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
i think it is still active
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Can she order new sim with her old number?
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 4 months ago

Yes, she just needs to contact the phone provider. They will help her recover her phone number.

Ask Your Own Email Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago

When they say you have requested too many text message codes in a short period of time or too many login attempts made.. does that “short period of time” mean too many requested in 24 hours?
Email technician: Jason Jones, Computer Technician replied 3 months ago

No it does not mean 24 hours. That time could be one hour or a matter of minutes.
