My Mail program no longer accepted my password. I reset it. My new password ***** on my Samsung tablet and phone, and my gmail account on a browser, but not Mail. Puzzled.

First, quit the Mac Mail app completely, if running.

Next, open up the following link:

https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps

Sign in to your Gmail account if prompted; on the page that opens up, is "Allow less secure apps" set to ON or OFF?

I went to Mail Preferences and when I clicked on Google account there is not incoming or outgoing options.

Please do this when you are back on:

Open up the Mail app, then click on the Mail menu at the top > Preferences.

Next, under Accounts, select your Gmail account first and then click on the "-" (minus) button at the bottom-left to remove the account.

Next, click on the "+" icon to add back the Gmail account with the new password.

Does this make any difference to your issue? Do keep me posted; standing by.
