I'm in contact with Microsoft tech support because my MS Edge crashes. I'n now waiting for them to call me.

Here is how you find the folder:

Shut down Thunderbird.
Locate your profile folder,
Go to one level above your profile's folder, i.e. to %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\
Right-click on your profile folder (e.g. xxxxxxxx.default), and select Copy.
Right-click the backup location (e.g. a USB-stick or a blank CD-RW disc), and select Paste.
