Cannot reconnect gmail to Outlook IMAP. Keeps requesting passsword which has been changed

Technician's Assistant: How do you usually access Gmail? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?

Usually on Outlook but cannot connect to server. It is working fine on my Google browser and on my Xfinity website

Technician's Assistant: What troubleshooting have you tried?

Removing the account from outlook and reentering it with the current password. Suspect problem may have to do with my adding an ipad to the neywork, but I keep getting a gmail popup on my desktop telling me to reconnect and I cannot

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Software Expert to know before I connect you?
