I use Outlook for my gmail account and as of a few days ago i can't send or receive emails through it. i get an error message saying that i can't access the server. The failure message says to go to https://support.google.com/mail/accounts/answer/78754. I've gone there and then made sure i had all the right settings, but still no success. I've also changed and confirmed my password. I want my access back to Outlook. btw, this problem is on my laptop.

Technician's Assistant: Are emails stuck in your outbox or are you receiving an error message?

Ii repeatedly get the little box that tells me to input my username and password. the server listed is smtp.gmailcom.

Technician's Assistant: Are there any antivirus or firewall settings that could block you from sending mail?

I certainly haven't changed any settings, so there shouldn't be.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Email Expert to know before I connect you?

I temporarily had a similar problem on my tablet (also using Outlook) but managed to fix that. I got a message on my tablet which said that Google was blocking 'Less secure apps' and listed Outlook desktop as one of those apps. I reset my account to allow less secure apps but the problem persists.
