I am getting many reports that my email is not coming

I am getting many reports that my email is not coming through. This seems to be linked to replying to a string of messages. I do not get an indicator that a new email has arrived and the emails do not show in my inbox
JA: Just to clarify, what email service provider are you using?
Customer: gmail
JA: How do you access your email most often? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?

no, i get email and a chain gets started, but often when a person replies to the chain, i don't get it

OK, that seems to be an issue with the senders' end. Are you sure they are not hitting "Reply" instead of "Reply to all"?

typically it is only me and the other person. so reply all not needed. it is happening with too many people it seems for it to be a sender issue

try turning OFF the conversation view

that puts everything from one person into the same "conversation" rather than a separate email. I personally find it amazingly annoying and difficult to figure out when you have received a new email. but young people that are used to texts on a phone like it.

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. Click the gear in the top right.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Scroll down to the Conversation View section (stay in the "General" tab).
  5. Choose Conversation view on or Conversation view off.
  6. Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.
