JA: Who is your email provider (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.)?
Customer: outlook
JA: How do you access your email most often? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: web browser this did not come from email this came as a frozen
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: red screen giving me a "Microsoft" number to call

I am sorry this has happened to you. This is a scam. Please DO NOT call or let them have access to your computer, as they are probably installing spyware and other malicious items. Report them to Microsoft :

press and hold the power button on the computer until it turns off and then turn it back on. Once it is back on, that pop-up message should be gone.
