I have had a gmail address in the past. I no longer use that email account but i am having difficulty downloading my new gmailaccount onto my new iPad. Gmail only recognizes the old gmail account
JA: How do you usually access Gmail? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: Through phone and I could on my old iPad.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?

It refuses to recognize me and then says it will send an email to the old gmail account

ok, you are forgetting the .com

so try to sign in on www.gmail.com with***@******.***

yes, but for me it is recognizing the address fine, can you please try to sign in again using the @gmail.com

ok... the email address is working, I am able to even reset the password ***** I wished to... so I am not sure exactly from where you are signing in

Go to the app store, then install the app Gmail

open it and try to sign in there

let me know the results please.
