Hello, and Thank You for choosing JustAnswer.comMy name is ***** ***** I am reviewing your question now, please stand by for 1 or 2 minute for reply.
are you using a MAC, or a windows PC, that has the lotus notes on it.
and lotus is quite old, and is now called IBM notes.
and what server settings are you using now for the POP3, and the SMTP servers ?
i found these settings....are you using these settings?
Account Name: Yahoo-POP Account SErver Name: mail.yahoo.com Login name: Your email address Password: Your Yahoo password Protocol: POP Only From Locations: Uncheck the "*" and select "YAHOO" from the location list.Account SErver Name: mail.yahoo.com Login name: Your email address Password: Your Yahoo password Protocol: SMTP Only From Locations: Uncheck the "*" and select "YAHOO" from the location list.
or you can try these server settings.
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.comOutgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.com
from what i can tell you cant use IMAP on lotus with Yahoo, only POP3
you can use Gmail Imap with lotus.....but yahoo....not so much
yeah thats OUTLOOK!
Lotus is NOT outlook!
its still an EMail client....but its a DIFFERENT type....so....yeah just because it works on outlok means NOTHING
Lotus and Yahoo are direct competitors, and havent contracted for IMAP usage yet.
Unlike Gmail, and IBM (IBM own Lotus) they DO HAVE a contract.
So gmail allowed IBM theor IMAP source code so they could implement it into their lotus software
No, my official answer is you need to use a POP3 yahoo to use it with Lotus
all the forums.....support this
click on the link below for a detailed instrcutions to add gmail account to lotus notes 8.5
yeah, one second please
use the settings in the link below.
its an image link.
you shoudl have the SAME accoutn creation page on your lotus too.....
oh you have lotus 8.5.
this screen was pulled from lotus 8, instead of 8.5
But the server settings should still work the same.
that shoul dbe the same wether you use IMAP or POP
so it shoudl be smtp.gmail.com
