My password is very confused. I have had to set it twice

My password ***** ***** confused. I have had to set it twice recently due to possibility of compromise of banking info. I have time and again copied a set of distorted numbers as code and it just pops up another riddle.
JA: When did you last reset your username and password?
Customer: password ***** night - did not reset username:***@******.***.
JA: How do you access your email most often? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: web browser - only recently could do this with a celphone. Have a wi-fi router recently installed in my residence.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: The gear icon for settings. Took an alt. account on YAHOO as***@******.*** to get code numbers sent via alternate path.
JA: Anything else you want the email expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I am nearly 72 - not a techie -but not an ignoramus either But I'm VERY frustrated with this wasting my time now!
