I set up Thunderbird with one wrong entry. I entered IMAP

I set up Thunderbird with one wrong entry. I entered IMAP instead of POP. Now I can't delete Thunderbird to start over with the correct info. I have 4 times completely deleted it (so I thought) and 4 times downloaded it. The last one was deliberately an older version. But each time it will not ask me the setup questions, but instead comes up with my old Inbox and system info shows it is still IMAP. I need to delete all info from my original setup. Please help. Bob
JA: Who is your email provider (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.)?
Customer: Redshift. Works well with Thunderbird on my other computer. Both are Win 7.
JA: How do you access your email most often? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: Web browser on tower or this is a laptop.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Basically none as this is a new laptop still stripped of much of anything. I saw no troubleshooter in Thunderbird. I called Redshift and was told that since there was no way to change IMAP to POP by typing in a box, I had to delete Thunderbird and start over.
JA: Anything else you want the email expert to know before I connect you?
