I have an Asus tablet. When I type in a password, I see a message: Your PC is offline. Please sign in with the last password ***** on this PC. But I cannot remember the password. How can I log in?

I'm sorry about the issue. What's the model of your Asus tablet?
Does your tablet have a physical keyboard?

Does it have Windows 7 or 8 or 10, etc.?

Does it show an email address at the password ***** login screen?

Does it let you connect to Wi-Fi / wireless at the password ***** login screen?

Is it okay to reset the tablet fresh, so you can re-set it up fresh, like brand-new, with a new password ***** want?

Asus T100TA-82-GR
It does have a keyboard.
It does show my email address on the login screen.
I cannot connect to WIFI.
It is OK to reset the tablet fresh, but I don't know how to do that.
The screen now reads
ROGER PEARCE***@******.***
It appears to be locked up. I cannot change anything on the screen

Thank you for replying back. Please try the following fix:

  1. At the Asus tabet's password ***** login screen, press and keep holding the Shift key on the keyboard.
  2. Click on the Power icon on the screen, then click on the option Restart while still holding the Shift key.
  3. When a menu appears, then you can release the Shift key.
  4. When prompted, click on the Troubleshoot option.
  5. Then select the option Reset your PC, and continue.
  6. When prompted, select the option "Just remove files."

- Do you see a menu / the Troubleshoot option when trying the above steps?

None of this works. The screen remains the same. I cannot even turn it off now.

Obviously I have a computer problem, not a software problem. I am going to have to take it to a computer repair service. Since your answers did not solve the problem, can I get a refund?

It seems you are using Microsoft account to log on this tablet. Hence the first thing to do is to verify if the account is still valid, active and accessible. Are you able to log on your Outlook account via web from another computer?
