I inadvertently deleted all emails, including those that had been saved in folders. Can they be restored?

Which program do you use to access your email (Outlook, Mac Mail, Entourage, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc)?

If you look in your Trash folder, are the emails in there? If so, select them all and then choose to restore them to the Inbox. Did that help?

If they are not in the Trash, there is absolutely no way to retrieve them. I am sorry to be the bringer of bad news. Please, log out of Gmail, log back in, and verify that they are indeed gone.

Ok. I have done that as well. Was trying to figure out why I cannot send emails from my iPad. They always bounce back as having been refused by the server - guess I missed both boats.

No. Not there either. However, I can send emails from the computer, but not iPad.

On the iPad, from the home screen, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > and choose your gmail account. From there, choose to edit the settings. What is shown in the Outgoing Server area?

It just says GMAIL SMTP Server? Please, change that to: smtp.gmail.com

The port should also be changed to: 465

Once that is changed, save the information and attempt to send another email.

You need to change the server name. If you cannot, then you can go ahead and just delete the whole account on the device. After it is gone, add the account again.

Deleted the account and reestablished it. Server name unchanged.

I did add the server name you gave me and turned it "on" so if the other one does not work, hopefully it will rotate to the one I added
