I've had the problem recurringly, but I'm stuck this time for some reason. I lost the integrity of the registry or something like that inside Outlook 2007, and thus cannot access my Yahoo servers to receive or send messages. I keep seeing that annoying screen that pops up prompting for a password. The error message is:
Task '*****@******.*** - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password ***** your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR [AUTH] (#MBR1212) Incorrect username or password.'
Why isn't Outlook communicating the correct ID and password ***** Yahoo? I can access Yahoo fine independently, and I've configured everything in Outlook by the book.

I am very sorry about your issues. Have you tried to change your Yahoo password ***** then update the password ***** your Outlook?
