I am have a problem with my Office Outlook email program.

I am have a problem with my Office Outlook email program. This started about a month ago. The problem is that very often when I attempt to send or receive or delete an email the program does not respond for long periods of time, up to 10 - 15 minutes, to complete the task. It is very frustrating and i'd like to have this fixed.

Ok. The first thing that you need to do is to DISABLE all plugins in your Outlook.

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on File => Options
  3. Click Add-Ins in the lower left panel
  4. Click the GO button
  5. Then UNCHECK all items listed to disable them
  6. Click OK to close
  7. Close Outlook
  8. After 30 to 60 seconds, open Outlook and then test if the problem is gone.

We need to use another approach in this phase. Please do the following:

  1. Close MS Outlook and all other programs especially MS Office programs like Word, Excel, etc
  2. Press the Windows logo key and hold, and then press R. (That is, Windows key + R)
  3. The RUN box shall show up.
  4. In the RUN box, type:

    outlook.exe /safe
  5. Click OK
  6. Outlook will then open in Safe Mode and there please check if the problem is gone.
