My name is*****'m a certified computer professional with 15 years of experience. It would be my pleasure to assist you with this. May i ask what version of Eudora you are using?

I apologize. I see that you are using Eudora 7. Theway to keep the headers from showing is to edit the Eudora.ini file. I believe that a SECURE REMOTE CONNECTION, where I connect to your computer work on this as you watch, would be the fastest and easiest way to resolve your issue and I have offered this as an Additional Service. This is optional, and if you choose not to do this, I can try to find a way to help you here.

May I ask what version of Windows you are using?

Yes, I can do this, I will provide instructrions that may be easier for you than editing the ini file.

  • Create a new message in Eudora.
  • .Type or paste "X-Eudora-Option:TabooHeaders "
    • Make sure there is no white space between the colon (':') and the option name.
    • Add a whitespace character after the option name, though.
  • Press Enter.
  • Click on the now highlighted string while holding down the Alt key.
  • This brings up a dialog that allows you to edit the X-Eudora-Option.
    • The dialog also displays the default and current values of the option.
  • Type or paste the desired value under New value:.
  • I recommend using the default value and adding other entries to it as needed. :
  • Add any headers you do not want to see displayed in messages by default.
    • Separate entries with commas.
    • Eudora hides all header lines that begin with an entry under TabooHeaders. Having "X-UIDL" inTabooHeaders will hide only lines beginning with "X-UIDL" while adding "X-" will hide "X-UIDL" as well as "X-MimeOLE" and any other header line beginning with "X-".
  • TabooHeaders has a default value of "X-UID, Received, Status, X-UIDL, Message, In-Reply, X-Priority, Mime-Version, Content, X-Persona, Resent-Message, References, Return, X400, X-400, Mail-System, Errors-To, X-List, Delivery, Disposition,X-Juno, Precedence, X-Attachments, X-MSMail, X-MimeOLE, X-Nav", which you can add to your custom headers.
  • After configuring it the way that you want, click OK.
  • Discard the message.

This is what I recommend that you copy and paste as the New Value

X-UID, Received, Status, X-UIDL, Message, In-Reply, X-Priority, Mime-Version, Content, X-Persona, Resent-Message, References, Return, X400, X-400, Mail-System, Errors-To, X-List, Delivery, Disposition,X-Juno, Precedence, X-Attachments, X-MSMail, X-MimeOLE, X-Nav, X-Apparently-To, X-Apparently-To

in the body of the message. I apologize for leaving that out.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK so I generate a new message and when it opens only my email address is on the From entry. Then in the body of message I write X-Eudora-Option:TabooHeaders without the quote remarks. Then do I hit send or what is next step.

Have you answered my question above?

Would it be easier if you called me at(###) ###-#### *****
Expert:  GeekGal replied 1 year ago.

I apologize for the delay in responding. I was offline by the time that you asked your second question. I usually work early mornings and occasionally a couple of hours in the evening.

In the body of the message type X-Eudora-Option:TabooHeaders, press the space bar, then press enter.

I have provided the most clear and concise instructions that I possibly can.

I think it would be easiest for both of us if we did a Secure Remote Connection and I do this for you while you watch.

I have revised my original offer for the Additional Service and offered at the lowest price that I can charge ($5).

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I again followed your instructions. I clicked on new message. A message then opened up with the only entry being my name as sender and my canned signature at bottom of message. I pasted the X-Eudora-Option:TabooHeaders in, hit the space bar and then enter and nothing happens. I will be traveling on business tomorrow Friday so we will have to continue this Monday afternoon when I return.I assume I am not understanding your directions and I must be missing something or you are missing telling me each step.
Expert:  GeekGal replied 1 year ago.

I believe if you will remove the canned signature this will work for you. The body of the message should contain nothing but X-Eudora-Option:TabooHeaders. I'm sorry that you're having difficulty with this, I will also provide instructions for editing the Eudora ini file directly in the hopes that you will find that to be easier. I will upload those instructions as a pdf. I will be available in the mornings and for a couple of hours each evening this weekend, just probably not during the afternoons, so it doesn't have to wait until Monday unless you are busy all weekend. Safe travels!
