IPad user: Several days ago, you tube and Facebook messenger

iPad user: Several days ago, you tube and Facebook messenger went to a dark Null status. I tried to delete and reload the apps but failed. I cannot delete the Null apps. I have an inconvenient work around for you tube, but it is inconvenient as I have to go to google search each time. I tried to add it to my desktop but it wouldn't load.
