Hello, as of yesterday at...
Hello, as of yesterday at around 1pm all of my (2) google account folders have disappeared.
the contents of the files - gone.
all of my client files - empty.
At the bottom of my Mac Email client is a message that (the message comes and goes)
stating that anywhere from 800k to over 1.6 million incoming emails are being processed.
What's happened? I did change my password ***** one of my accounts recently, but this is bizarre. I may have been zealous about cleaning up emails, could have deleted archived emails , not sure. Just recovering from major surgery and a bit hazy about last week, but this just started to show up as a problem yesterday. HELP!

I have two email accounts and one yahoo. the yahoo account files and contents are intact. I access all three through my Mac Email app.

So I think the issue isn't with your mac mail client but rather your gmail account itself..have you checked your trash folder in gmail?

yes, but not "actively"- I mean that I have my gmail set up on my iphone and on my macbook air.

yes, all folders are empty. Could I have deleted everything by "deleting" or attempting to delete archived mail?
If so is this mail recoverable?

It's pretty difficult to delete all emails at once..did you attempt an archive on mac mail?

I am really stumped at this point..the only thing I could offer now is additional services for a remote screen sharing session so I can dig around on your computer to see what might have happened..would you want to do that?

so you've never heard of someone getting this message saying x millions of incoming mail being processed?
Do you think it's because I tried to delete archived messages? Are items in mail folders (other than inbox) considered to be archived?

Not necessarily, and with IMAP if the folders fall under the inbox tree it would still be part of the inbox.

Not necessarily millions, but yes I have seen mail get confused and show some random numbers processing when it does not have correct data
