The phone is set up and working fine with yahoo, which I believe sends it to the droid via g-mail. I think when bestbuy set up the phone with att.yahoo it probably caused the problems with my pc

My wife uses the phone for business and doesn't want to risk anything changing in her phone. She can live without her email going to my pc. The main problem is just getting the yahoo to stop sending me duplicate emails every time.

We need to do this without touching her phone.

i signed in. we're both under her info her email is coming up on the att page but not in the windows inbox and all of the emails i've received from you are still doubles

the yahoo is singles, the windows mail is doubles. I use the windows mail exclusively as it is linked to my mail icon, and has all of my folders and doesen't interfere with my use of internet explorer

How do I remove and add the account. Also will this have any effect on my wife's pc or phone?

Sorry I've been away from the pc for a while. One last question before I remove the Yahoo account. How will this effect the 1200 unopened emails in my bellsouth.net account that works through Yahoo?

I just tried to right click on my account and nothing happened. mine says windows mail, the example said windows live mail.

I have windows mail, not windows live mail. My mail looks different. It doesn't have 'GO' in the top tool bar and there is no bottom tool bar. Where the example shows hotmail, nine just says inbox and you cannot right click on it. Directly below it starts with 'Local folder' and everything else is a subset of that, including the real inbox and all folder including the one I use as my personal mailbox.

as a note: when I create mail it says from my bellsouth.net address and next to it in parentheses says (pop.att.yahoo.com(1)

I removed it and I am having trouble putting it back in. I is requesting me to set up servers both incoming and out going and I'm not sure what to enter

I just got your email and one other one copy each! The server wanted to download all of my emails from the year 1 and i stopped it. Wil that have any effect on anything or do I have to clear yahoo?

I really just want to delete the emails on yahoo since I have the copies and they're only taking up space. I think I'm as fixed as I need to be and i'm tired. If I go to accounts and mke my name the default will my maik go to the inbox?

Help I rated you excellent and even left a tip, and I'm back in trouble again. The one single email had its duplicate follow later and were back to all duplicates again I went to yahoo and it was empty so I don't know what happened to the barage of emails I stopped. Plus my wife is now having trouble with her e-mail and can't get to it in the usual manner.

she can't get to her mail at att.net (she uses that for both home and office computers) the way she used to by clicking the mail icon. she can go to att.net and there is another mail icon which she can click to see her mail, but says the format is slightly different.

I don't really know, and she is at work. My first interest is eliminating the duplicates.

I'll try. I assume I can always put her back. I tried making me the default and it still didn't put my mail in the inbox. My mail (i mentioned this earlier) is set up to be a subset of her and shows up in a folder on her page that says my name.

When we set it up we put filters(? i don't remember how) that said when my name was in the address the mail would go to that folder and not into the inbox.

should I still remove both or is there something i have to do first?

I just found out i'm not able to send e-mail. OUCH. I went to account then properties and the smpt port had gone to the default 25, then i tried the number you had given me 587 and that didn't work so I went to the number i was using before, 530, and that didn't work either.

The error message is: SMPT Port 530 Secure(SSL). No, socket err i0060 error number 0x800CCC0E

Please help I feel like I'm never going to be done with this.

Tried a new test and got a new error message.

This time I got long message and the scroller on the error message was not responsive.

It said that the authentication on the outgoing might be correct

It also said something about the '530' even though I had it set on 587

I lost the message in switching back and forth

I checked and re entered the password and my email address. I went to the att.yahoo address and my password worked and I was able to send mail rom there, but this is an unlivable pain ti have to do it that way.

My memory is not the best, but I recall having trouble before and think that is how I got set up with the copy(1) in my account before you and I began changing things

As far as the duplicates, this was always set up this way and there were no duplicates until she got a new phone and they added email capability to it. the previous phone had email capability and there was the same set up and no duplicates. At some point and it was around the time of the new phone, she had to cahange her password

I have dozens of folders with hundreds of saved emails in windows mail. I really want to use it. If i were to change it would require being able to move all of this information automatically

If I did a recovery(might be the wrong term) to an earlier dat on my compurter would it take my email back to the point where it was working?

What i needed was system restore. system recovery would have cleared and reset the computer to day one as purchased.

I tried system retore and is didn't work, i did undo than tried a different date and it still didnt work

I can't make it restore I tried several dates. It said to close all programs and I went as far asgoing to msconfig and disabling everything then tried to restore again and it still failed.
