Hi, I use mozilla firefox.

Please open internet explorer and login to your hotmail account using internet explorer.

I have opened hotmail using internet explorer and have the same problem - won't open or delete mails

Customer:

I use Bing as my homepage - does this make a difference. Never have had problems before.

sandy :

Please change your hotmail account password XXXXX

sandy :

No, Bing should not affect this.

sandy :

Please change your hotmail account password XXXXX

Customer:

Can't change it

Did that and it still won't open or delete emails when logging in with new password.

sandy :

since how long are you facing this issue?

Customer:

It started this morning

sandy :

Let me tell you that it is not an issue with computer or browsers.

sandy :

It seems to be an hotmail internal issue.

sandy :

I suggest you to wait for 6-12 hours to get it sorted out

sandy :

Also, please scan your computer using your antivirus program.

Customer:

I will do that, what should I do if it still doesn't work after that time. I have already run a scan for viruses on my computer.

sandy :

Please reset your browser as well:

sandy :

Launch Internet explorer
Click Tools
Click Internet Options.
Under the general tab, please delete cookies.
After that click the Advanced tab.
Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.
When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer

sandy :

Thank you.

Also:

sandy :

I would suggest you to scan your computer using the free version of anti-malware software. This will remove all of the malwares, spywares, viruses from the computer.

Note: If you have Anti-virus programs like Norton, McaFee, CA, kaspersky installed on the computer, still I suggest you to download and install Malwarebytes as the Anti-virus program does not remove Malwares generally.

Please open the following link and download free version of Malwarebytes.

http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

Please click
download the latest verion on the top left hand side and install it.

After that, click Quick scan and click start.

It will take around 10-15 minutes to scan. Once the scan is complete. You will see a link, "Select All". You will click "Select All". After that you will click "Remove Selected"

Then you will see a pop up with options, Yes or No. Click Yes and this would restart your computer.

Welcome Im Cory. I will be helping you today.

I am sorry your having problems with your hotmail, i know this can be frustrating.

This is a widespread issue on hotmail servers and they are working to fix the problem.

I can assure you that all of your emails and incoming emails will not be effected.

One thing you can try is when you login add an "s" after the http in the address displayed. It should look like https:// and leave the other part of the address the way it is.

Press enter

If this does not work then you can try enabling HTTPS:

In your inbox click on Options at the top left then More Options

Click on Advanced Privacy Settings on the right side.

Select Go To HTTPS Settings

You may have to login again

Choose "Use HTTPS automatically" and Save.

Alternatively you can go to https://account.live.com/managessl?ru=http%3a%2f%2fmail.live.com%2fdefault.aspx%3frru%3dInbox to get the the HTTPS settings.

Try your mail and see if you can open folders, delete or move messages.

If you have any questions please, "reply to expert".

If my answer was helpful please click ACCEPT next to my name so i get credit for helping you.

It's been a pleasure helping you today!
