I need to talk with someone regarding my TV it keeps going to standby when we try to turn TV on with the remote

Technician's Assistant: What's the brand and model number of your TV? How old is it?

It a Sony and its 12 years old

Technician's Assistant: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?

Not on this set it clicks on and the TV goes to stand by. We have another TV its a 12 year old Sony and it is working find.

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been an issue with your Sony? What happened right before this?

It was on before we went to dinner and working fine . Came home use the remote like we have done for years and this problem happen.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the TV Expert to know before I connect you?
