JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Its a Sony RMT-VB201U, its suppose to be a universal player that we just bought a year ago.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Wait its a model number BDP-S3700 Region free DVD player it has a stamp right on it. It says it plays any standard DVD region 12345678 and blue ray region A, B and C. Do we have to unregister it, could that be the problem?

Please confirm that you are trying to play DVDs, and not BluRay Discs?

What region is stamped on the DVDs that you are trying to play?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Well we are trying to play either or. It is a blue ray DVD player so why would it not play a DVD if it is a blue ray or not?
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Again, we have played either blue ray or non blue ray and some work while others don't so it doesn't make any sense at all.

Any answer to my question/problem yet? I don't get why the DVD player says it's a region free DVD player so why wouldn't it play some of the dvds?
Expert:  Pete replied 1 month ago.

It plays any standard DVD region 12345678 and blue ray region A, B and C.

What region is stamped on the DVDs that you are trying to play?

Expert:  Pete replied 1 month ago.

It is region-free for DVDs but not for BluRay. It only plays BluRay region A, B and C.
