I have a set of JBLspeakers that are about 40 years old. Set consists of a large dome speaker and two satellite smaller speakers. Have plugged them into the port of my PC and nothing happens. Have a power light showing.
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: JBL. I cannot find the model number.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: For about 1 month. I have checked the connections and the power light is on, indicating a good power supply.
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?

Have you tried connecting the speakers to any other device, to rule out a problem with the PC?

Do you have a voltmeter available to carry out some troubleshooting tests?

I connected the speakers to my iPhone and they did not function there either.
I do not have a voltmeter available.

Ok so the problem appears to be with the speakers...

If you have any test equipment available and plan to troubleshoot the problem yourself please let me know.
