The "Line in Use' never turns off. I have checked all the handsets. All are plugged in I am the only person here so no one is using phones.

Technician's Assistant: How old is the phone?

Probable 8+ yrs. It is modelKX-TG6841.

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?

Other problems such as dialing out and call not going through. Line to phone has been checked. Technician said this problem is probably in the lines somewhere maybe due to rain. We always have rain in July and August but I have only had this phone servicenfor 5 months.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?

1) If you have multiple handsets (within the same system), does this happen with all of them?
2) Are there other phones or even a fax, outside of this system but on the same line? If so are they working properly?
3) Is this a landline from the local phone/cable company, or a VOIP service (vonage/magicjack/etc)?
4) Do you have dsl service on the same line?
