Initially and to avoid asking you to do something you've already tried, can you please tell me what / any and all troubleshooting / specific steps you've already attempted ?

followed directions in instruction booklet- cannot access "new message:

Please clarify:

  • recording a new answering message - would this be the "Greeting" message heard by callers?
  • cannot access "new message - have you tried pressing the ► (play) button when the message indicator in the base unit is flashing?

Or would the issue be that the handset is indicating that there is a new message but can not be played back nor accessed?

Yes on the phone call Ella soon as the system has cleared the "Status: ... failure"
