Hi I have recently received a Panasonic NC-PF30PV electric thermo pot as a present. It works well, but the water has a slight charcoal taste. I drink hot water instead of tea and find this taste problematic. Is there anything I can do? I have completely filled/heated and replaced the pot 4 or 5 times to date. Thank you.

Customer: Since I received this pot, 3 days ago. I have filled, boiled and replaced H2O 4 or 5 times.

That charcoal taste is an integral part of the unit meant to enhance teas...

It will lessen over time but may take 30 or so refills...
