Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,

I'm Greg and will do my best to assist with this issue today.

Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your phone(s).

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) The FULL Model Number of the phone system you are working with?

2) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?

3) Do you have ANY other phones (NOT part of the main system) attached to this same phone line and if so, are they working properly?

Please REPLY using the box below and the SEND button.
*** IMPORTANT NOTE: *** If you see ANY requests for "additional services" (such as a phone call) please understand that these are OPTIONAL and sent BY THE SITE AUTOMATICALLY (and not me), and I may NOT be available by phone. Feel free to DECLINE (close) any such offers, and continue in this text/chat form.

Thanks

Hi Linda,

The string of characters looks like a serial number of some kind.

May I ask:

1) The FULL Make (brand) & Model Number of the phone system you are working with?

2) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?

Thanks

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
My service provider is Spectrum
serial # KX-TG6572

OK - thanks for the provider and Model of the system.

So may I now ask:

3) Do you have ANY other phones (NOT part of the Panasonic system) attached to this same phone line and if so, are they working properly?

OK - very good.

The FIRST STEP I would take - to try to get the phone system off of "hold" is to:

Do what I call a "short reset" - of the MAIN BASE UNIT of the system.

That is done by doing the following:

Cordless system "short reset" procedure.

==========================
1) Remove the phone cord from the main base unit AND the phone jack in the wall.
2) Remove the AC power adapter plug from the main base unit AND remove the AC adapter from the power outlet.
3) WAIT AT LEAST 5 minutes. This allows any "stuck" conditions in the components to clear.
4) Reconnect the phone cord between the main base and the phone jack in the wall.
5) Reconnect the AC power adapter plug in the main base unit and then plug the AC adapter into the wall power outlet.
6) Wait 30-60 seconds for the system to reinitialize.
7) Test each handset for proper function.
8) Test each function of the main base unit (answering system, caller id, etc.).
============================

Please give these things a try and let me know what you find or if you have more questions.

Thanks, ***** *****

Hi again,

Just checking back to see if that short reset got the system off HOLD?

Please let me know - so we can continue - if needed.

Thanks
