I havea Panasonic tv--mode;tcp5052-made 09/10' .every so often the picture freezes and the sound is mute and seconds later it comes back on..what do I do to cure this? thanks
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact model of your Panasonic? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: model TCP 5052- about 5 y5ars old -made in sept 2010
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: one week- I don't know what to do

What is connected to this tv ?
Cable box,satellite,dvd,games etc. ?
How do you receive your tv channels , antenna ,straight cable ,cable box with remote or satellite box ?

O.k then and how long does that freeze usually last before it comes back by itself ?

Are we talking about a DVR/cable box , does it record ?

comes back on in a few seconds--yes it does record

O.k then its not your tv acting up but the cable box , namely its hard drive .

These unit keep recording even while you are just watching tv , that is why you are able to pause a program for example .

Right now the hard drive is the one freezing .

You could try to reboot it by pulling out its power cord 30 secs but ultimately you will need to have that box replaced if it keeps doing it
