Hi and welcome to the site, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, is the Panasonic's VIDEO OUTPUT connected to a TV ?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
the front digital display has stopped working and i cant see selections to adjust anything
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Is that over and above the $34 dollars
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Is there a way to adjust speakers without this display working
Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.

As above posted, is the Panasonic's VIDEO OUTPUT connected to a TV ?

Normally/in most versions, the MENU is also displayed on the TV and not only on the snall screen of the Panasonic.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
it is but i am not getting a display on the tv
Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.

Then unfortunately, other than the display, the Panasonic has other potential hardware issues.

Are you then considering a DIY (do-it-yourself) repair approach? If yes, do you have access to and familiar with a multi-meter and even a soldering iron?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No
Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.

The described symptom would require that the unit be opened up to effect repairs. If not a DIY, then the services of a professional / repair person would be needed.

Alternatively, evaluate other options considering cost of repair, down time, cost of shipping, age, parts availability and comparable prices of newer/better models.

Please post back how you would want to approach this and/or should additional information be needed.

The unit is working fine apart from being able to adjust the sound without seeing the display to make new choices
Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.

That it does not display to the TV as well would lend to it being suspect.

Would you perhaps prefer a second opinion and/or alternate approach from other members of the site?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Is there something i need to do to get the display on the tv
Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.

The question would be re-opened as I would rather opt out.

Still, good luck with the Panasonic.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Well that didnt help much
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I am not happy to pay for that
Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.

Per above:

  • is the Panasonic's VIDEO OUTPUT connected to a TV ? - Yes;
  • the MENU is also displayed on the TV and not only on the small screen of the Panasonic - not getting a display on the tv;
  • other than the display, the Panasonic has other potential hardware issues - unit is working fine.

If the "...unit is working fine..." then front panel VOLUME control should work; display working or not nor shown in the TV or not.

I am not paying. I have done it myself. I found selections without the display.
Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.
